FAQ

Ozone (O3) (from the Old Greek word ὄζειν – ozein “to smell”) is a molecule consisting of three oxygen atoms (O). Ozone is not stable for very long and converts back to a stable and harmless oxygen (O2) quite quickly, if it has not had a reaction to any hazardous substances.

The Oxy3 uses the scientifically proven power of oxidation to break down pollutants and get rid of odors. In combination with the water vapor injected into the vehicle, ozone also produces active oxygen thus increasing the elimination capacity many times over.

At the end of the process, the remaining ozone is neutralized and converted back into oxygen. The vehicle only has to be aired out well for a few minutes at the end of the process, eliminating any excess condensate, and the vehicle is immediately ready for use.

1

Is basic cleaning really necessary before use?

Yes, a basic cleaning must be carried out. The Oxy3 breaks down pollutants and removes odors in the vehicle interior. However, impurities such as sand, soil, dust, cigarette ash etc. must be removed before use.

Wet cleaning is recommended in the case of strong odors. The Oxy3 should then be put into operation immediately after wet cleaning. This procedure further increases the odor elimination performance.

2

How is the Oxy3 correctly installed?

Installation can easily be carried out by just one person. The vaporizer is placed in the vehicle, the remaining device components are located outside the vehicle and are connected to each other via the ozone injection.

The installation only takes 5 to 10 minutes.

The exact installation instructions can be found in the operating instructions.

3

How long does it take to install the Oxy3?

Depending on your experience, assembly (including disassembly) takes 5 to 10 minutes.

4

How long does it take to use the Oxy3?

Depending on the program, the fully automatic application of the Oxy3 takes only:

35 minutes (for regular and repeated treatments and for low levels of contamination) or

90 minutes (for one-off applications and heavy contamination).

5

When should the Oxy3 be used?

The Oxy3 has two tasks: odor elimination and pollutant break down.

Odors are perceived through the nose. We therefore recommend using the Oxy3 if you notice unpleasant odors. Vehicle manufacturers recommend servicing the air conditioning system at least once a year. We recommend to run the 35-minute program at least once a month.

Firefighter clothing and equipment should be decontaminated after every firefighting operation to ensure the most efficient removal of pollutants and odors.

6

How often can the Oxy3 be used?

Caution: Vehicle damage (e.g. to the electronics) cannot be ruled out if the cases a) and b) below are not taken into account:

a) Carry out a maximum of 3 applications in direct succession. Ventilate the vehicle well between each treatment and wait 30 minutes. If success has not been achieved after these 3 applications, the Oxy3 is not suitable for solving the problem.

b) If a vehicle is treated regularly, use Oxy3 no more than once a week (manufacturer's recommendation). Shorter intervals are the responsibility of the user.

7

Do I need to pay attention to anything when using Oxy3?

No. If the Oxy3 is operating correctly, the decontamination and odor removal process runs fully automatically. The process time can therefore be used for other important work.

8

How long must the vehicle be aired after use?

As the Oxy3 automatically destroys the excess ozone at the end of the process, the vehicle could be entered immediately after the end of the program. However, there is usually residual moisture from the water vapor in the vehicle interior after the application. It is therefore recommended to ventilate the vehicle for a few minutes.

9

Can the Oxy3 remove unpleasant odors sustainably and permanently?

Yes, the Oxy3 has been put through its paces under the most extreme conditions. Even the worst odors could be removed with the Oxy3: from sour milk to nicotine stench, from animal odors to decomposition smell.

However, proper basic cleaning is a prerequisite. If the odor is very persistent, we recommend moistening the contaminated area or wet cleaning. If the odor is very bad, it may be necessary to reapply the Oxy3. However, this is not a problem: one application costs less than € 2.

10

Do I need chemicals or other cleaning agents for the application?

No. No chemicals or cleaning agents are required for vehicle treatment with the Oxy3. Pure oxygen ensures the production of ozone. Only distilled water should be used to generate the water vapor.

11

Why does the Oxy3 use ozone?

Ozone has been proven to be one of the strongest oxidizing agents and can therefore be used very well for the decomposition of organic substances (e.g. odorous substances) and for decontamination (e.g. pollutants such as PAHs).

The Oxy3 also uses the oxidizing power of ozone, but enhances this power with water vapour. For this purpose, ozone and water vapor are introduced into the vehicle interior at coordinated times, a sophisticated combination process that is unique on the market and thus ensures sustainable odor elimination and pollutant break down.

12

What distinguishes the Oxy3 from conventional ozone generators?

  • Pure oxygen is used instead of ambient air. This prevents the formation of harmful nitrogen oxides, which are toxic to humans and the environment.

  • The Oxy3 is the only device that works with ozone, active oxygen and water vapor. This means that even the worst odors can be removed sustainably and permanently.

  • At the end of the process, the remaining ozone is rendered harmless. It is safe to enter the vehicle immediately after application. There is no need for tedious and lengthy ventilation after the application.

13

Is ozone dangerous?

Yes, ozone is dangerous for humans and animals above a certain concentration. However, when used correctly, the user does not come into contact with ozone.

Unlike other ozone generators, the ozone still present in the vehicle is completely broken down at the end of the process with the Oxy3. We recommend giving the vehicle a good airing for a few minutes and it can then be used again.

Ozone is easily recognizable even at low concentrations due to its pungent smell. If such an odor is detected during use, the process should be stopped immediately by pressing the "STOP" program on the device.

14

Can the Oxy3 be used in all vehicle types and sizes?

Whether cars, vintage cars, caravans, minibuses, cabs, snack vans, trucks, vans, etc., the Oxy3 can be used on a wide range of vehicles. Smaller rooms and cabins (e.g. boats) are also conceivable if the room to be treated can be sealed.

The odor removal performance decreases with increasing size of the vehicle interior. The Oxy3 is designed for rooms up to 20 m3 (= e.g. 5 m x 2 m x 2 m). The performance can no longer be guaranteed above this size.

15

How high are the operating costs per application?

The cost per application depends on the selected program, but is less than € 2 at most.

16

Why are conventional ozone generators generally cheaper?

The Oxy3 is not comparable with conventional ozone generators! In addition to performance, the Oxy3 was developed with safety for users and the environment in mind.

The Oxy3 stands out significantly from similar products in these respects:

1. Performance and quality are ensured by the innovative ozone, active oxygen and water vapor process.

2. Safety for users and the environment is ensured by the complete decomposition of ozone at the end of the process.

The technical implementation of these points means that the Oxy3 consists not only of an ozone generation unit (ozone generator) but also of an evaporation unit - in other words, two technical units in one device. The control of the entire process, including safety technology, is based on sophisticated electronics (control system).
